Tommy Morrison was a former World Boxing Organization champion with a net worth of $10 thousand. He won 49 out of 52 professional fights and was known as the Duke. Morrison appeared in the 1990 movie Rocky V alongside Sylvester Stallone, playing Rocky Balboa’s protege Tommy Gunn.
Morrison won the WBO heavyweight title in 1993 after defeating George Foreman in a closely contested bout. However, he lost the title in the same year to Michael Bentt by a first-round knockout, suffering his third loss. Morrison was forced to retire in 1996 after testing HIV-positive.
Despite his retirement, Morrison won two more fights in 2007 and 2008. However, he faced several convictions for driving under the influence, assault, and drugs and weapons charges. Morrison died on September 1, 2013, at a hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, after being bedridden for over a year.
