DES MOINES, Iowa– Des Moines Police and the Animal Rescue League of Iowa removed 24 cats from horrible living conditions. According to the ARL, the home was covered in feces and garbage. All of the cats were suffering from upper respiratory infections, ear mites, pink eye, and fleas. Some of the cats’ eyes were matted shut. The ARL says one of the kittens, named Ozzy, had such a severe eye infection it caused one of his eyes to rupture.
Four teenagers from the central Indiana town of Indianapolis died on Wednesday evening when their vehicle struck a minivan.
The four teens in the vehicle were killed and five others, including a fifth passenger in the vehicle and a family of four, were taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
None of those killed was wearing a seatbelt, but the fifth survivor was.
